Nikolaev region has an advantageous economic and geographical position, through the territory of the region are three international transport corridors: the Euro-Aziysky, Baltic Sea – Black Sea, Black Sea countries.
The competitive advantages of the region are:
– Developed transport infrastructure and maritime complex (presence of 3 ports, 1 river port, an extensive network of motor ways, railway connections and an international airport);
– A powerful export-oriented production (machine building, shipbuilding, energy, metallurgy, food and light industries);
– Favorable conditions for the development of agro-industrial complex;
– Powerful Energy (presence of a nuclear power plant, a number of alternative energy companies);
– High scientific potential;
– The unique natural resources: fertile soil, granite deposits, raw materials for cement production, etc .;
– Development of tourism and recreation industry – in the region focused a lot of recreational areas on the coast of the Black Sea.
On the territory of Nikolaev region is located more than 396 large and medium-sized enterprises.
In the structure of industrial production is dominated by the following economic activities: the production of food and beverages, machinery, metallurgical industry and manufacture of fabricated metal products, the production and distribution of electricity, gas and water.
Port infrastructure is a key factor in the economic development of Mykolaiv region.
The region exported goods to 117 countries around the world, imports coming from 78 countries.
